This ring was not an engagement ring; it was made to be a unique piece of jewelry to wear on occasion, but would make a very nice engagement or anniversary ring. This unique diamond (lighthouse cut) is an exclusive Turgeon-Raine cut; these diamonds are not available anywhere else in the world and only one person does this cut. Light house cut diamonds appear similar to emerald cut diamonds but have facets that sparkle. This can be confirmed by contacting Turgeon-Raine in Seattle, WA: http://www.turgeonraine.com/detail.asp?pid=996. The diamond was originally purchased to be made into a necklace. Instead I decided to design a ring. I chose an artist at Green Lake Jewelry Works in Seattle, WA to make the ring. Green Lake Jewelry Works still features the design on their website and in their shop (design #S15210 - the “Minimalistic Lighthouse Diamond Mounting”). The band has what’s called a “sandblasted finish” which gives it a soft matte finish. This ring has only been worn on a few occasions and is appraised as “like new” quality, but the ring looks new. I’m now selling it because I don’t wear it and don’t want the burden of keeping it safe. I would be thrilled if someone bought it who would enjoy it. I’m selling for half the appraised value due to the ring’s uniqueness and quality. Appraised value: $8700.00. I am glad to send copies of appraisal documents.
