Story This is the story of a 26 year old heart broken man. The day I met my then fiance I knew I was going to marry that girl. We dated for about a year and were engaged for another year. During that first year she hinted with her left hand on my shoulder pointing to her ring finger as if to say put a ring on it. A few months go by and I have finally found a beautiful ring that I know she'd just absolutely love because it was from me. I carried that ring in my pocket every day for a month just waiting for the right moment to ask her the best question ever. Halloween of last year was that night. We went to a party dressed as rednecks and boy were we dressed the part, I had a mullet, billy-bob teeth, camouflage shirt/ pants, hunting boots and a mustache. She wore slippers, leopard skin pants, bath robe, t-shirt with a fake pregnant belly, baby on the hip, beer in hand, cigarette in her ear and curlers in her hair, and to top it off she had a fake black eye. We were the best couple at the party in my eyes. After a night of drinking it was time for the costume contest and it just so happens that I won the contest and I felt THAT was my moment, I went to the DJ desk to get my prize and said can I have the microphone I need to do something. I asked the girl of my dreams to marry me in front of 40 people most of whom I didn't know and that was the longest 10 seconds of my life. She couldn't believe I was doing that there when she looked like she did. When she finally said yes we couldn't be happier.I told her I could have done a dinner or asked her at a lake, but this way she'll never forget how I asked her. My story ends with heart break and devastation, but I'd rather talk about the good times we've had together than the bad. I hope the next person who buys this ring will have a long and happy marriage, and I hope the girl who wears it will know what she has in her man and will trust everything he can do for her.
