11377 Engagement Ring
This ring was given to me by my husband of 25 years on New Year's Eve, 1987, just when the clock struck midnight. It was one of the most memorable moments of my life.
Every day after that I would look at the ring shining on my finger. I took such good care of it, until one day I noticed that one of the accent diamonds was missing! I was devastated. I went back to the jeweler who sold the ring to my husband to get the missing diamond replaced. Unbeknownst to me, the jeweler replaced the missing diamond with a cubic zirconia! I didn't discover this until 30 years later in October 2017 when I appraised the ring (copy attached).
Yes, this ring has an imperfection, but I like to think of it as a unique characteristic. It has a story. It symbolizes that not everything in a marriage is perfect, but if there is love and trust, then these imperfections are quite unnoticable!
In 2013, my husband passed away suddenly. I couldn't bear to wear the ring any more, so I placed it in my safe, along with other memories. But a few months ago, I decided to sell it; it didn't feel right leaving it in the dark. Its story will have been left untold and forgotten. I wanted to give it another opportunity to adorn the finger of another lady whose life will be changed by her prince.
To whoever purchases this ring, I hope she says "I do". To the lady who wears it, be happy! :)
