Eco-friendly weddings are all the rage. But some couples have taken environmentally friendly engagements to a whole different level.
In this amusing article in the Boston Globe, Christie Matheson told her boyfriend, Will, she wanted a “green” engagement ring. Matheson wasn’t referring to color of the diamond; she wanted a ring that could represent their love and be safe for the environment at the same time.
What a challenge. Will considered a vintage ring but came up with something truly out of the ordinary surprising her with a wooden engagement ring he spent days carving. He even presented the ring in a vintage jewelry box he found. Christie was in heaven. His carving skills were put to the test again when he created wooden wedding bands to exchange at their wedding.
For some couples, diamonds are in the eyes of their beholder. If you have a diamond lover in your life, check out this beautiful ring!

I thought you might be interested to know that my latest book, “How To Get Married In Green: have an eco-friendly wedding without compromising on style,” was published in North America last month.
In the book I have devoted an entire chapter to “green” jewelry, and go on to cover numerous further aspects of how to have a greener wedding without sacrificing style, and without spending a fortune.
…although of course the book is available on all Amazons, not just the UK version, and will be in most good book stores.
I also run an associated blog where readers can post questions as comments, or email me with them, about how to make their wedding or other celebration more eco-friendly. I then respond on the blog, FOC of course! That’s here:
