The company had announced a Brides Across America wedding gown giveaway campaign, which donates wedding dresses to wives of soldiers in the military. Some of the brides have also served in Afghanistan and Iraq, and even a few brides are currently serving. The first 41 women who responded to the giveaway received a free dress with sizes ranging from 2 to 22.
Traditionally, it is superstitious for the groom to see the bride in her dress before the big day, but there are always exceptions and this is one of them. One happy bride-to-be took a picture of her new dress and sent it to her fiancé in Iraq and he wrote back “it’s the one.” The giveaway was a great way to help brides on a budget while waiting for their fiancés to return home from overseas.
